Well, it looks like our creative talents extend beyond hair after all! 😊
Recently, Leonard and I decided to try our hand at something a little different and entered the Incognito Art Show. It’s a wonderful event that’s open to absolutely everyone, and this year attracted more than 27,000 artworks.
The concept is brilliant. Each piece is sold for $100 with money raised supporting artists living with disabilities. Professional and well-known artists exhibit right alongside enthusiastic everyday creatives… like Leonard and me!
But here’s the fun part: you have absolutely no idea whose artwork you’re buying.
The artist’s identity is kept secret until you’ve purchased the piece and turn it over to discover their details on the back. There’s no famous name influencing your decision, no impressive biography and no reputation attached. You simply choose a piece because you love it — which we think is a rather lovely way for art to be enjoyed.
In the lead-up, we had plenty of laughs about the many, many, many entries Leonard submitted and wondered whether either of us might actually sell something.
Well… guess what?
We sold some of our work! 🎨
Suddenly, we’re feeling rather proud of ourselves and may have even started casually referring to ourselves as professional artists. 😂
Being part of the exhibition was already such a fun experience but when those emails arrived telling us our pieces had sold, we were just a little bit ecstatic.
And it reminded us of something worth sharing……… have a go.
Paint something. Write something. Bake something. Learn something. Enter something. Do that thing you’ve been wondering whether you’re good enough to try.
You never quite know where it might lead.
And at the very worst? You’ll have another experience to add to that wonderfully unpredictable record book called LIFE. ❤️
