Led by Leonard Newton — with experience across global leaders including Vidal Sassoon, Toni & Guy and Evo — and supported by Jodie, whose warmth and creative eye shape the salon experience, DMJ is built on a balance of skill, care and authenticity.
Together, our small, highly skilled team work from our much-loved Surry Hills salon, creating personalised, beautiful and wearable hair that fits seamlessly into our clients’ lives.

Leonard
Award-winning. Internationally experienced. Industry respected.
Leonard’s career started in Manchester before quickly evolving in London, where he refined his craft within one of the industry’s most influential global salon groups during its formative years.
Education has always been at the core of what he does. From training at the London Academy to contributing behind the scenes in product development, Leonard’s path has been shaped by both creativity and technical precision. He later moved into session styling, working alongside leading industry icons and contributing to editorial titles like The Face—where his love for fashion-led, expressive hair really came to life.
His work has taken him around the world as an educator for evo, while also playing a key role in the development of the evo haircare range—bringing a deeper understanding of both the craft and the products behind it. At the heart of everything Leonard does is a passion for precision cutting and refined, effortless styling. His approach is thoughtful, detail-driven and always tailored—creating hair that feels modern, wearable and distinctly individual.

Jodie
Jodie lives and breathes hair—it’s not just what she does, it’s who she is. With years of experience in both cutting and colour, she’s especially known for creating beautiful, dimensional blondes (and having a lot of fun while doing it). Her career has taken her to London, where she trained with the iconic Sassoon Academy and worked alongside industry greats .
